The Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars PC Demo (Multiplayer & Single-Player) comes with the final version of Valley, one of the larger battlegrounds in the game. Set in Yosemite, California, Valley has the Global Defense Force on the attack, as they attempt to foil a Strogg contamination plot centering on a water treatment facility. Valley features a great blend of close quarters infantry action, vehicle battles and aircraft dogfights, and the varied terrain combining mountains, waterways, tunnels and industrial structures allows for many different playing styles. To top it all off, there’s a multitude of optional side missions and plenty of opportunities to try out the various defense turrets, artillery and radar deployables – Valley is a prime example of the frantic and diverse action you’ll find in Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars.

Gamecock and Auran announced today the ultimate battle where two elite gaming clans will face off in the new Player versus Player MMO, Fury.

Pandemic is a leader in the World of Warcraft Arena will battle against Flow Gaming which is one of the top FPS clans in the world. The match will be this Friday at 7pm. You can watch the game match video at fury.esportstv.com

“This is the beginning of something monumental,” said Tony Hilliam, CEO of Auran. “FURY bridges the gap between MMOs and FPS’s and we‘re confident it will make the perfect addition to the competitive gaming environment. This is will be our first showcase of the game in the competitive space and we are honored to have two top e-sports teams on board to fight it out. This will be the perfect lead-up event to our $1 Million Fury Challenge Open Beta event that starts September 15.”

I’m really curious about Fury. It sounds like an interesting mix between the two worlds of MMO’s and FPS. For me it will come down to controls. Because I’m horrible at FPS as it is, Fury could turn out quite difficult for me to play, but we’ll see!

Fury is scheduled for release on October 9. Visitors to CPL Dallas will be able to get hands-on-demos and talk with members of the Auran and Gamecock team.

Also thanks to the beta testers, here are some suggested improvements that have been taken into account by the developers:

* Redefined game balance : weapons & ammunitions stock with, for instance : Less grenades in the inventory & less power for the grenade launcher
* Increased Recon ability for the Ghosts with improved sound management, for instance: The Ghosts are more silent when crouched or prone.
* Additional level of polish : reworked the most frequent issues for the game experience, for instance : annoying “enemy down” voices decreased, ADATS status on map made clearer, end round alarm sound for the “money time” (10 round last seconds), also increased efficiency of the mounted weapons.
