Casino Royale is seriously one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. It is in many ways a renewal for the series. As everyone may have realized the James Bond series eventually became completely unrealistic to the point of childish. Daniel Craig may not be as “dashing” as Pierce Brosnan, but he is a bad ass. Pierce got too old; it just seemed silly when he beat the crap out of a group of thugs who outnumbered him 10 to 1. Daniel Craig, on the other hand, looks like he’s been through a good brawl or two. He doesn’t whip out a bunch of silly Jing Quan Do crap….. he just literally beats the snot out of everyone. He’s a guy I would avoid fighting.
I was a little disappointed Casino Royale didn’t have any cool gadgets. Those have always been a staple in the James Bond movies, I thought. However, the other staple of the James Bond series, awesome cars, is still there, and didn’t disappoint. The cars may not have rockets anymore, but nevertheless most guys would still leave their family for a chance to drive any of these 500 horsepower ‘compensators’.
To all whom may read this: go see this movie for your own damn good. It is awesome. I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD, or even better HDDVD, just so I can experience every high resolution pixel of this kick ass movie over and over again.
